SUBJECT : NILAM Cyclone Alert for North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts :
The Cyclonic storm ‘NILAM’, remained practically stationary and lay centred at 1430 hours IST of today, the 30thth October 2012 near latitude 9.50N and longitude 82.00E, about 450 km south-southeast of Chennai and 130 km North-northeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka). The system would move North-northwestwards and cross north Tamil Nadu & adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coast between Cuddalore and Nellore near Chennai by 31stst October, 2012 evening. we can see the more information at http://www.imd.gov.in. In America also cyclone is effected the New York city and Named as Sandy cyclone 2012.

The cyclonic storm, ‘Nilam’ over southeast Bay of Bengal moved
northwestwards and lay centered at 1730 hrs IST of today, the Cyclone at
present 450 km east-southeast of Chennai and 650 km southeast of NELLORE
It would intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm. The system
would move west-northwestwards and cross north Tamil Nadu and south
Andhra Pradesh coasts between Nagapatnam and Nellore close to Chennai
by 31st October 2012 night. The Rain occur at most places as heavy to
very heavy falls over north coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Nagapatnam, Cuddalore and south
coastal Andhra Pradesh minly in Nellore and prakasam districts from morning of 31st October 2012. The winds
speed reaching from 55-65 kmph to 75 kmph in Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh coast from morning of 31st October 2012 and increase upto 120-130 kmph to 140 kmph at the time of landfall. Sea conditions will be very rough to high.
Many Control rooms are have been opned in AP and Tamil nadu districts. In Andhra Prasdesh mainly In nellore and Prakasam (ongole) districts control rooms have opens and also given the Toll free numbers and danger flags are flagging atmain ports.
