KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Maoist party on Saturday announced that they would investigate allegations by their new member, a defector from a party in the plains, that he was threatened by an official of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu for switching sides. Maoist deputy chief Narayana said his party would also ask the Indian Embassy for an official reaction to the allegations by defecting MP Ram that he was threatened by an official from the consular section as well as warned by the Indian ambassador to Nepal, not to back the Maoists.
